What is a Grand Family?
When children cannot be raised by their parents, research indicates they do best being raised by grandparents, other relatives or close family friends.
These families are known as Grand Families.
More than 2.3 million grandparents in the United States are householders responsible for grand children living with them.

What is a Kinship Caregiving?
Kinship caregiving refers to the practice of a child being raised by relatives or extended family members, instead of their biological parents.
This arrangement typically occurs when the biological parents are unable to care for the child due to reasons such as illness, incarceration, substance abuse, neglect, or death.

In kinship caregiving, the caregivers are often grandparents, aunts, uncles, or older siblings, though it can include any relative. These caregivers may take on formal or informal roles.
